Drug Enforcement Agency probing PeTA

According to this story in the Virginian-Pilot, the federal Drug Enforcement Agency is investigating PeTA and the way it trains employees on procedures for handling controlled substances that it uses in animal euthanasia ( yes, PeTA kills animals; by the thousands in fact ) . I found it very interesting that the article claims that the raid on PeTA headquarters was unannounced because of fears the agency had that evidence may be tampered with or destroyed. Perhaps this is just standard procedure for the DEA, I'm not sure. If not, I think it says a lot about just how untrustworthy law enforcement thinks PeTA is. This could be one to keep an eye on.
